Ces ran the Teesside branch of the 44 Club for many years before handing it over to Bram Allport. Ces, who has sadly been unwell recently, was released from hospital just in time for the celebrations.

The Bay Horse, Great Broughton. 7 September 2023

Our summer meeting for 2023 was on 7th September at the Bay Horse, Great Broughton.

Nine members attended and again enjoyed the first-class food and service which we always receive there.

Great Broughton is a small village on the B1257 road between Stokesley and Helmsley very popular with motor cyclists because of its many twists and turns even more so when the sun is shining.

Many thanks to Bram & Moira for organising a very enjoyable afternoon.

Christmas Lunch - December 2022

Here we are again the end of another year – how quickly they pass.

Our Christmas lunch this year was at the Bay Horse Inn, Great Broughton. 11 members attended. We have been there quite a few times now and always had great service and today was no different, great food, great service together with great company. It was quite a cold day with the odd snow shower which was soon forgotten about as we are always met with a very warm welcome from the staff.

A wide selection of food was on offer which was enjoyed by everyone. Many thanks to Bram & Moyra for organising a very enjoyable afternoon.

This is a photo of great friends of mine, Ces and Doreen Tate, who will be celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary on the 14th February 2022 – Valentines Day.

Ces was a tanker driver at Teesport and then at Jarrow when Teesport closed.
Ces ran the Teesside branch of 44 club for many years organising many meetings which we all enjoyed.

They are both very active members of the local bowling team and Doreen keeps fit by playing badminton twice a week and loves spoiling their grand children and great-grand children.

We wish them many more happy years together.

This was the scene that greeted us on Thursday morning (2nd December), the day of our Christmas lunch at The Tribridge Hotel near Great Ayton! Thank goodness the snow didn't stay too long so 20 members were able to attend. We were met by very friendly staff who later served us with an excellent meal.

It was so good to catch up with old friends, who we haven't seen for quite a long time, talking over old times.

Thanks to Bram & Moira for organising a very enjoyable afternoon.
